For this project, we had to use our creativity to create something around our magazine square. We also had to make it match the colors of the magazine square. I decided to turn mine into a monkey. I didn't do the best with color matching though. The fur of the monkey was a little too dark. I also couldn't match the moss on the tree, but I tried to make the same designs that I saw in the moss on the square.
Point Perspectives Dream House
For this project, we got to design our dream houses and draw them in either 1, 2, or 3 point perspective and I chose 2 point perspective. My house is a two story modern house with a brick accent on the front, hedges, and a white rose bush. Inside there are four bedrooms, a big closet connected to my bedroom, a big pantry, laundry room, garage, office, kitchen, dining room, living room, and two bathrooms. The bathroom on the second floor is a jack and jill into my bedroom. I also first designed it in The Sims. My house is located in the middle of nothing in Ohio because when I get older I want to be in real estate and I also want to make a little subdivision where I rent all of the houses out. I also added power lines in my drawing. This has been my favorite project so far!
Impressionism Painting
My original drawing is way different from what I ended up painting. I first painted a sky and added different shades of blue into it. Then I added some swirls of green for the ground. Next I painted the mountain and water. Then I decided not to do the swirls, so then I just pushed down on the canvas with the same color of green. Finally, I added a bunch of different shades of green to the ground so it looks more like trees.
Alebrijes
For this project we used clay. I really liked using the clay and I didn't think it was hard. I decided to make my animal have the body and legs of an elephant, the head of a dog, & the tail of a monkey. I drew it having butterfly wings, but I decided not to add those to it. We made pinch pots for the body & head and then we scored it and made coils to cover the spots where I attached each body part. After it dried, I painted it pink with yellow dots and brown eyes.
Self Portrait
This is my final self portrait drawing. It doesn't really look like me, but I tried my best. I feel like I did better on this portrait than any of my previous ones. I used a B pencil for the whole drawing.
Practice Portrait
This is my second portrait drawing. I drew the eyes too far apart so that pretty much messed up the whole face's proportions. I drew the face a little bit too big and the chin isn't that sharp and it wasn't centered the best in the middle of the page. And the neck is way too thick!! But honestly I did pretty good from my first portrait to this one.
Close Up Value Drawing
We drew pictures that were close up and I chose a strawberry. It was kind of difficult because of how much shading I had to do, but I think that it ended being pretty good for my first close up drawing. I used a B pencil and it seemed to work the best for me. It was also kind of difficult because of how many seeds there are.
Pre- Portrait
This is my first portrait. As you can see, it's not exactly the best but I think it's pretty good for a first time doing a portrait. I can't exactly draw faces that well, but I can tell that's be improving on that soon hopefully!! I drew an Indian because I absolutely love anything to do with Indians because I have a lot of it in me and their history isn't talked about much.
Sketch Book
Our second art project was to make a sketch book. We had to cut fabric out to make the cover and glue that to cardboard. Then I used paints to make the inside covers. We folded printer paper to make the papers inside. I sew them into the middle of the book. It took a little bit longer than I expected to sew the pages in, but it turned out better than I thought!
Mask
Our first art project was to sew a mask. I hand sewn every part of my mask and it took me longer than I expected. I'm glad that it turned out better than I originally thought it would!
